Officials report one man is missing after the massive flooding in Ellicott City
Gov. Larry Hogan has declared a state of emergency after heavy rain flooded Ellicott City Sunday, washing away cars and leaving behind extensive damage. Ellicott City again was flooded throughout Main Street and the surrounding area due to slow-moving storms. Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman said Sunday's flooding was worse than the flooding in 2016.
A man was rescued with critical life-threatening injuries by off-duty D.C. firefighters after his vehicle flipped over into water. Fire Department said the vehicle drove off the road on the inner loop of the Beltway at the Branch Avenue Exit and into water near one of the ramps. The firefighters went into the shallow water and were able to pull the man out of the vehicle.

Baltimore City officers are investigating two Saturday morning incidents: a stabbing and a shooting. The first, the stabbing, happened at a little after 12:42 a.m., when Eastern District officers were in the 2300 block of East Biddle Street when they found a 51-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper and lower body. He was transported to an area hospital where he was rushed to surgery.

A person was found dead inside a room after a fire at a six-story hotel in Capital Heights Thursday morning, according to authorities.
